Remembering at Yeovil

THE Armonico Consort and actor Julian Glover come to Westlands entertainments centre on Monday 11th November, the anniversary of the day that the guns fell silent in 1918.

They Shall Grow Not Old, which begins at 7.30pm, is an inspiring and moving commemoration in music and words. The critically-acclaimed choir will perform poignant and much-loved music, from the plainsong chants of 13th century nun Hildegard of Bingen and Allegri’s Miserere, to Elgar’s Lux Aeterna (Nimrod) and John Taverner’s Song for Athene, performed so memorably at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.

Interspersed throughout the evening, star of stage and screen Julian Glover, will read letters home, tales from the trenches, poetry, passages from diaries and extracts from the Wipers Times.

A recipient of the Laurence Oliver Award and regular RSC actor, Glover’s film credits include The Empire Strikes Back, For Your Eyes Only and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, while his television appearances span Doctor Who and Blake’s Seven to Inside No 9.
