Powerful play starts Swan’s new season

YEOVIL’S Swan Theatre starts it 2025 season with a production of Diane Samuels’ 1993 play Kindertransport, on stage from 20th to 25th January at 7.45.

Evelyn is happily settled into middle aged, middle class England. But when her daughter Faith discovers some old documents in the attic, she is forced to confront her past – the love, the horror and the humanity. In doing so she will learn to see her daughter in a new light.

Set in Manchester, it is a fictitious account but based on many stories of Kindertransport children and the families they joined and founded. It was described as ‘the best play about the pain and passion of mother/daughter relationships” by The Guardian, and “a powerful contribution to Holocaust literature” by the New Yorker.

The cast of the Swan production is Sarah Ambrose, Georgia Holden, Jo Simpson, Grace Butcher, Ali Maynard-Griffin and Will O’Neill.
