THIS year’s Bath pantomime will be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, once again written by panto star and writer Jon Monie, who will co-star with the theatre’s much-loved Dame, Nick Wilton, with children’s television presenter Olivia Birchenough as Snow White. The panto will run from Thursday 12th December to Sunday 12th January.
When the magic mirror declares Snow White to be ‘the fairest of them all’, the vain, wicked queen flies into a jealous rage and demands her revenge. Making her escape, Snow White discovers a cottage in the forest inhabited by seven dwarfs who welcome her warmly into their home. But danger soon returns when a mysterious old lady arrives at their door selling apples.
With a new script by Bath’s multi-talented pantomime legend Jon Monie, this thrilling fairy-tale tells the story of a beautiful princess trying to flee the clutches of her evil step-mother with the help of her friends, the seven dwarfs, a delicious Dame and her hilarious son, and a handsome Prince. Bursting with comedy, great songs, stunning dance routines, beautiful costumes and plenty of audience participation, this festive extravaganza is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.
Olivia Birchenough has been the much-loved presenter of Channel 5’s Milkshake! for 12 years. She was crowned Best Leading Female at both The Great British Pantomime Awards and The Panto Insider Awards in 2017. Her starring roles in pantomime have included Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She made her West End debut in the live children’s science show, The Ministry of Science, when it transferred to the Savoy Theatre last year.
