Jodie Comer coming to Bath

JODIE Comer is coming to Bath Theatre Royal in February 2026, reprising her BAFTA, Emmy, Tony and Olivier Award-winning solo performance in Suzie Miller’s powerful play Prima Facie.

Bath is one of nine destinations on the UK and Ireland tour, with the world-famous production appearing at the Theatre Royal from Tuesday 24th to Saturday 28th February 2026. Tickets for the Bath tour dates go on sale to Associate Members on 25th March with Friends booking from 27th March and general booking from 3rd April.

Jodie Comer plays Tessa in this gripping drama which takes audiences to the heart of where emotion and experience collide with the rules of the game. Along with unanimous rave reviews, Jodie won the Olivier Award when she made her theatrical debut in the production at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End. She subsequently won the Tony Award when the play transferred to Broadway. The NTLive and Empire Street Productions film has also enjoyed two record breaking theatrical releases.

Tessa is a thoroughbred – a young, brilliant barrister who loves to win. She has worked her way up from working class origins to be at the top of her game – prosecuting, cross-examining and lighting up the shadows of doubt in any case. An unexpected event forces her to confront the lines where the patriarchal power of the law, burden of proof and morals diverge.

Jodie Comer says of the tour: “It is a huge privilege to return to Prima Facie for one last time and take this important play on tour across the UK and Ireland. The resonance of Suzie Miller’s writing, both in London and New York, exceeded anything we could have imagined.

“I’m so thrilled to have the opportunity to get the team back together and take the production to theatres around the country, including my home town of Liverpool. On a personal note, I can’t think of a better finale to what has been such an incredible and deeply rewarding chapter in my life.”

Prima Facie is directed by Olivier Award-winner Justin Martin. The composer is Rebecca Lucy Taylor, set and costume designer is Miriam Buether, lighting designer is Natasha Chivers and sound designers are Max and Ben Ringham,.

The production, for which Suzie Miller also won an Olivier Award for Best Play, will open at Richmond Theatre on 23rd January 2026 before touring to Dublin, Edinburgh, Cardiff, York, Bath, Canterbury, Birmingham and Liverpool.

Producer James Bierman has announced the continuation of partnerships between the forthcoming tour of Prima Facie and charities The Schools Consent Project and Everyone’s Invited. Set up in 2014 by barrister Kate Parker, The Schools Consent Project is a charity which sends lawyers into schools to teach 11 to 18-year-olds the legal definition of consent and key sexual offences. To date, they have spoken to more than 80,000 young people across the country. Throughout the tour, the production is working with each venue to support the charity’s work. Everyone’s Invited aim is to expose and eradicate rape culture with empathy, compassion and understanding. It offers a safe space for survivors to share their stories completely anonymously.
