THE Apple Tree Farm Shop at the Gardens Group’s Brimsmore Garden Centre in Yeovil has passed a Horticultural Marketing Inspection with flying colours.
The annual audit, which checks that the fruit and vegetables on sale in the Farm Shop are honestly sourced and labelled, was carried out by the Rural Payments Agency on behalf of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The inspection is completed to encourage a thriving farming and food sector as well as strong rural communities.
Cath Collins, manager of The Apple Tree Farm Shop, says: “We work very hard to make sure that our fruit and vegetables are clearly and honestly labelled.
“Supporting local farmers and growers is important to us and we are delighted to be able to say with confidence that you can wholeheartedly trust the root of all of our produce from the farm to our shelves.”
